The Missouri Way Impact Series: Leadership Academy
October 29, 2020
Dear State of Missouri team members:
We have faced unexpected challenges together in the first six months of 2020. You adapted. You solved problems. You and colleagues continued to deliver for our fellow citizens.
As Governor Parson has stressed, our job as public servants is to “make each other better, because what I want is for us to be role models for the State of Missouri.”
That’s why, especially in challenging times, we are continuing to invest in working together better.
I want to highlight one of those investments: the Missouri Leadership Academy.
Despite COVID-19, we have continued this six-month program to develop leaders across all 16 executive departments. Each Academy class develops recommendations to improve how we work together. These recommendations are being put into action.

The fourth class presented their capstone projects to Governor Parson and Cabinet leaders this week. To learn more about the Academy, please see this recent Jefferson City News Tribune article.
So far, over 100 state leaders have graduated from the Academy. The fifth Academy class started its journey this week.
We will continue the Leadership Academy, along with MOLearning and other investments, because they will help us serve our citizens.
